he Amarnath Yatra is a highly revered Hindu pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave in the Himalayas, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It takes place annually, typically during July and August, when the ice lingam in the cave is at its largest. The pilgrimage involves a trek to the cave, which is located at a high altitude, and is known for its challenging yet spiritually fulfilling experience. 

 

  • Spiritual Significance:

    The Amarnath Cave is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva revealed the secrets of immortality to Goddess Parvati. The naturally formed ice lingam is worshipped as a manifestation of Lord Shiva. 

  • Challenging Trek:

    The journey involves trekking at high altitudes, requiring physical endurance and preparation. 

  • Two Main Routes:

    Pilgrims can choose from two routes: Pahalgam and Baltal. 

  • Annual Pilgrimage:

    The yatra is an annual event, with a specific duration each year, usually commencing around Skandshasthi and concluding on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandan). 

  • Management:

    The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) manages the pilgrimage, including registration, routes, and safety measures. 

  • Registration:

    Pilgrims need to register for the yatra, which is often done online through the SASB website

  • Safety Measures:

    The SASB implements various safety measures, including medical facilities and security personnel, to ensure a safe pilgrimage.

  • Additional sightseeing or extra usage of vehicle, other than mentioned in the itinerary will be charged extra. Single Pick up & Departure is included in the cost. Multiple arrivals and departures will be charges extra
  • Sightseeing by Union Cabs at Gulmarg, Pahalgam & Sonmarg, Kargil will be charged extra and payable directly to union driver.
  • Camera fees, Guide / tour escort charges & Entrance Fees at monuments, parks, musuems, gardens etc
  • Any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances, etc. (to be borne by the client, which is directly payable on the spot)
  • Any increase in taxes or fuel price, leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure

  • Holy Cave Darshan
    Visit the sacred Amarnath Cave, situated at an altitude of approx. 3,888 meters (12,756 ft), where the naturally formed ice Shivling is worshipped as a manifestation of Lord Shiva.
