Overview

The Kailash Manasarovar Yatra is a deeply spiritual pilgrimage for followers of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and the Bon religion, centered around Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar in Tibet. It's considered a journey to purify the soul and cleanse sins, with Mount Kailash revered as the abode of Lord Shiva and Lake Manasarovar as a source of spiritual energy. The pilgrimage typically involves circumambulating Mount Kailash (the Kora) and sometimes taking a dip in the holy lake, though direct bathing is not permitted, and pilgrims collect water for rituals.
