Shivneri Fort, the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is located near Junnar close to Pune and is an ideal destination for school trips. The trip is planned according to GMRT (Group Movement and Route Timing), which includes departure from school by bus in the morning, breaks en route, guided tours of all major spots at the fort, and timely return travel. 06:30 AM — Departure from Pune

  • Early morning departure in a private vehicle or group coach

  • Carry packed breakfast/snacks for en route

10:00 AM —  Arrive at Shivneri Fort

  • Explore:

    • Shivaji Maharaj Birthplace

    • Mahadarwaja gate and fortifications

    • Ancient water tanks and viewpoints

  • Light trek — allow approx. 45 minutes to 1 hour

  • Line up & Descend down the Fort get Board to the Buses 

 01:30 PM — Lunch at Restaurant 

 02:30 PM — Depart for GMRT, Khodad (Approx. 30 minutes drive)

 03:00 PM — Arrival and Visit GMRT Observatory

  • Tour Asia’s largest radio telescope facility

  • Explore visitor’s gallery and learn about radio astronomy (prior permission advised)

 05:30 PM — Evening Tea & Snacks

 06:00 PM — Line up and depart to Pune

 08:30 PM — Arrival at Pune
