Day 1

Pune to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad)

  • 11:30 AM — Arrive in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), check-in at your hotel

  • 12:30 PM — Lunch at hotel or Yalla Yalla Restaurant (for Mughlai/Indian)

  • 02:00 PM — Visit nearby sights (optional):

    • Bibi Ka Maqbara (Mini Taj Mahal)

    • Panchakki (ancient water mill)

  • 05:00 PM — Free time for local markets (Paithani sarees, Himroo shawls, Bidriware)

Ajanta Caves Excursion & Return to Pune

  • 09:30 AM – 01:00 PM — Explore Ajanta Caves (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

    • 30 ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves (dating 2nd century BCE – 6th century CE)

    • Key caves to visit:

      • Cave 1 (famous murals)

      • Cave 2 (ornate ceiling paintings)

      • Cave 16 & 17 (masterpieces of mural art)

      • Cave 26 (giant seated Buddha)

    • Experience ancient art, storytelling murals, sculptures, and chaityagrihas

  • 01:00 PM — Lunch at MTDC Restaurant near Ajanta complex

  • 01:45 PM — Depart for Pune
