Overview

Reigning as a National Park since 1968, Bandhavgarh has ever been one of the most favourite destinations of Big Cat lovers. This place is home to around about 80 majestic and bold Royal Bengal Tiger. Spread over an expanse of about 1500 km2, Bandhavgarh is a mix of dry deciduous and bamboo forest, along with some grassland. This is very ideal for the striped big cats that hence thrived here very well. Bandhavgarh gets its name from a hillock/fort that was gifted to Lord Rama by Lord Laxmana (from famous Hindu epic Ramayana) as a brother’s gift.
